There's something uniquely American about the strange reasons we gather and create ritual. Festivals celebrating hearts of palm, gator wrestling on a humid summer day. I've been seeing the real America through the smaller county roads.

Which frame earns the darkroom.

A contact sheet is a direct print of every negative on a roll. I mark the ones I want to print with a red grease pencil. Sometimes it's obvious. Usually it takes a few days away before I can see clearly.

Stacking strips from the same shoot shows you the whole day at once — how long you stayed, how many times you tried, what the light was doing.

Notebook V1 — 2022–2024

Exposure time. Color pack. What I changed and why.

Every print session gets an entry. Without notes you can't reproduce anything, and you make the same mistakes twice. This first notebook ran from 2022 to 2024 — two years of sessions, corrections, and the occasional thing that surprised me.
